I grew up bewildered by the album covers of my sister’s collection thinking as a child, “what is this witchcraft?” I took piano lessons growing up after my mother realized i had “the ear” once she heard me playing the theme to Star Wars on my grandmother’s piano. Traded my skateboard in for my first guitar – a V-neck – thanks Mark Marcell! and instantly learned all Led Zeppelin and Metallica songs at 15 years old. In 9th grade I attended Jesuit really only to start my first band ‘Up with the Jones” playing covers of Beatles to Van Halen to REM. Then I wrote my first song – Cold Front. One of my sisters came home for the summer from college and thought the lyrics were my diary. She thought i was depressed. The song basically is an homage (or rather ripping off) David Bowie’s Space Oddity.
